Professor Charles
After learning first hand the effectiveness of Jiu Jitsu vía a family friend, Professor Charles Gaffield-Rosario first walked in through the doors of Tri-Town Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in September of 2006 and has never looked back since.
Professor Charles quickly adapted to the martial art and grew an affinity for triangle chokes, learning to snatch the submission from a variety of positions. After only 7 years of training, Charles was promoted to black belt by Professor Erwin Lopez. Since he started, Charles has competed at every level, everything from the old school Colorado Karate Association grappling divisions to the IBJJF Worlds. In 2017, Charles made his professional F2W BJJ debut and submitted his opponent via triangle choke after an exciting positional back and forth match.
Charles has spent many years as a head instructor for the old Tri-Town school as well as other academies. Charles’ past experiences plus his warm and kind demeanor makes him one of the most engaging instructors to learn from. We are grateful to have him as our leader and excited for the opportunity to spread this team’s great Jiu Jitsu to the people of Denver.
